In this class, we explore the foundations of color theory and the psychology of color, learning how colors interact, influence emotions, and shape visual perception. Students will discover how colors relate to one another through the color wheel, harmony, contrast, and temperature, while also exploring how different colors can evoke moods and communicate meaning. Through discussion and creative exercises, artists will develop a deeper understanding of how thoughtful color choices can strengthen composition, enhance expression, and bring greater intention and impact to their artwork. 🎨

In this session, we explore the Golden Ratio in composition and how it can help create balanced and visually engaging artwork. The Golden Ratio is a natural mathematical proportion that artists use to organize elements within a composition so the viewer’s eye moves harmoniously through the piece. During the session, we will look at examples from art and nature, discuss how the spiral structure can guide placement of focal points, and practice applying this concept in our own drawings or paintings. By experimenting with this compositional approach, artists will learn how to create stronger visual flow, balance, and emphasis in their work.
