My Colormate is a creative space where art, learning, and self-expression come together. Through My Colormate, I share my original artwork while also offering a variety of art classes and creative workshops designed for all levels—from beginners to more experienced artists.
At My Colormate, art is not only about developing skills but also about exploring creativity, building confidence, and connecting with others. Classes focus on strengthening artistic techniques while encouraging each participant to discover their own style and artistic voice.
In addition to skill-based classes, My Colormate offers art therapy–inspired sessions that use the creative process as a way to relax, reflect, and support emotional well-being. These sessions provide a supportive environment where participants can express themselves through art without pressure or judgment.
Whether you are looking to purchase original artwork, learn new artistic skills, or simply enjoy the healing power of creativity, My Colormate welcomes you to explore, create, and grow.
Pooneh Rafsha grew up in Tehran, Iran, in a family where art shaped everyday life. From an early age she developed strong skills in painting and drawing, studying and working with respected artists, including Jalal Shabahangi, whose mentorship influenced her approach to composition and visual expression.
At 13, she held a successful local exhibition in Tehran, affirming her commitment to art as a lifelong pursuit. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Iran, she relocated to the United States in 2010 and continued refining her practice in Los Angeles. Alongside her studio work, she supported individuals with mental disabilities through art therapy–inspired methods, encouraging creative expression and emotional exploration. These experiences deepened her understanding of art’s therapeutic potential and its role in personal growth.
Pooneh has taught painting and drawing in studios and educational settings across Los Angeles, Orange County, and Portland, guiding students in developing technical skills while fostering individual artistic expression. She also maintained an active studio practice exploring figurative and expressive themes.
Pooneh holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her work continues to evolve, blending traditional fine art techniques with interests in art therapy and the psychological dimensions of creativity.
For Pooneh, painting and drawing are more than disciplines—they are tools for communication, healing, and self-discovery. As she says, “I’ll never stop chasing art, because art never stops evolving.”
